Rich Levine: “THIRST! were due to play but had to pull out late on as Steve was ill……Initially, it was thought that Steve’s illness meant THIRST! couldn’t play the gig was pleurisy. Tragically & suddenly on the morning of December 28 1993, Steve died from a heart attack resulting from an undetected congenital condition. He was 24 years & left behind his wife Chrissy & daughters Amanda & Bex who was only 3 months old. Steve’s death left a big hole in the local scene.”
10th Feb 2023 – Again, no real memory of this show but it would have been around this time that I started selling off my record collection to finance my move to Australia with Bronwyn in 1994. I’m pretty sure I saw Rectify and Nux Vomica and have seen Herb Garden more than once, so I’m pretty sure I was at this show!
10th Feb 2023 – Guessing I was at this as I’m sure I’ve seen the Zimmer Frames and Chicken-Bone Choked. Obviously, I have no other real memory of this show though!
The real banana said “You’re an imposter” – she was the apple of his eye. The yellow skinned imposter smiled. His face twisted like he’d just sucked a lemon.
“No I’m not” he objected. It was their first date. He had sucked her dry. Once a grape, now a raisin.
The man with the pineapple haircut interjected “Excuse me. I don’t think the cream and cottage cheese were necessary in such large amounts.” He thought the imposter was a pervert. He wasn’t wrong. The cream was whipped.
The imposter slipped on the banana. He fell – it was a peach! Caught in the act. Plum-dumb.
