Slave to your trade
Girocheque, monthly paid
Tax takes one third
I am ready to serve
Fill in the form
The day you were born
Adjust to the curve
I am ready to serve

Prospects – 20th December 1986
No luck and no hope
Worry about how to cope
Depression is a normal state
Or lose your rag and build up the hate
Prospects for prospective miners
Part rewards for the part-timers
Days Are Numbered – 19th December 1986
Twelve months a year
Fifty-two weeks nearly
Our days are numbered
I can see it quite clearly
Thirty days a month
Sometimes thirty one
Our days are numbered
The end is sure to come
Ashes – 18th December 1986
Dust to rusty footsteps
Forget-me-nots forgets
Ashes to passive ears
Bulging eyes shed swollen tears
Fires for desired, burning hearts
Kindling coal of forgotten parts
Step Inside – 17th December 1986
Step inside, body for sale
Pay as you go, no cheques, please
Credit limit as you can afford
Step inside with such ease
15th Nov 2023 – This one doesn’t make sense but seems to highlight ongoing issues with understanding financial management!
Natter – 16th December 1986
Natter, natter, constant chatter
Sit in corners, sat in pairs
You wanna join in? Just grab some chairs
Chatter, chatter, constant natter
Gabble their gook and spread their word
Half the things they say are absurd
Chatter, natter
Invaders – 15th December 1986
Summertime on the beach
All you hear is foreign speech
You are so keen to get away
But you don’t want them to stay
Invaders
Go on holiday and think about it
Tough Nut – 14th December 1986
Big boy with no flairs
Big man with no cares
Muscles ripple from the big arm
Troubles grapple come to harm
Big boy and friends
No means to big ends
Big boy in the big pack
Big head, a tough nut to crack
Something Sick – 13th December 1986
Something sick is being born
Something sick waiting for release
Something sick inside your skull
Something sick to disturb the peace
We’re all sick of something
Anaesthetist – 12th December 1986
Anthology – catalogue of mistakes
Diary of wisdom in which he partakes
When you see the needle don’t be surprised
You’ll like the effects of being anaesthetised
Just another on his knocked-out list
Injected into the world of the anaesthetist
