The Marketplace – 16th July 2026

It feels like shouting into the wind,
your naked knowledge on display,

passed over with not even a comment.

You give your all, but none return.

There are fires in every other corner

to hook the dopamined eye.

~ Those hours spent searching for the word -
are they better spent in other ways? ~

In search of bright exchanges,

the chance to interact with a fan;

to philosophise together and fix the world.

Maybe you’ll be famous after you're dead;
everyone will know your name -
but what is the use of that?

Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

Progress Of The Soul

To what service is my soul committed?
Your purpose, your mission, your why?
Is this just an act, where the truth is omitted?
Duty is always calling as life passes on by

Truffles – 10th June 2026

Very much inspired and paraphrased from this SubStack post by Megan Falley about shifting attention

Nudge the kaleidoscope

to change the view.

Welcome a rainbow

out of the rain.

Dance through the diagnosis;

make magic of the mundane.

Amongst the mud,

hunt for truffles of joy.

Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

You Can Do It

If it can be done, it can be done by you
Don’t be jealous, take it as inspiration
Attitude will propel you forward in all that you do
Countering bitterness and desperation

We got that attitude! – 4th March 2020

I am so happy and grateful to be surrounded by all this music. It’s a wonderful collection of my life.

Remember: what gets attention is not always important. And what is important rarely gets attention.

Another lazy yet satisfying day. Tomorrow I want to do some kind of exercise and meditation in the morning. Being at home, unable to go anywhere is an interesting challenge. I feel like this is a great opportunity to get some things done but also that none of it really matters if it does get done or not so there’s no real pressure. I know that if I do a little each day then tasks will get completed.
