Sun crosses low in the sky
Brave New Beginnings – 5th March 1993
Sun shines down on me
And I realise I am blessed
With all life’s wonder
And each day’s new test
Clouds that pass by
Casting shadows of doubt and fear
Are soon-forgotten reflections
That never held favour here
Each new step taken forward
Opens up numerous avenues to explore
Each avenue searched in time
Makes more possibilities than ever before
Once so easy to frighten
Once easy to quash my ideas
Now I stand proud and enlightened
With knowledge gained from my years
Brave new beginnings around me
From them, I will not turn
Each little twist of destiny
Leaves a lesson for me to learn

Tragedy – 2nd March 1993
Dark snakes finger your opinions
Now you’ve lost all your control
Flirting with dangerous decisions
Cast black shadows through your soul
Continue on this bleakest road
Distances will set us apart
When soulmate becomes soulless
It tears a wrench in my heart
If memories are for yesterday
Sun shines on all I recall
The darkest moments from my past
I now forget them all
Light Is Red – 19th February 1993
When I can’t get out of bed
I still know
How to get up and go
When every light is red
I don’t despair
I’m still getting there
When I’m falling on my head
I won’t stay down
My future’s coming round
When my feet are made of lead
It won’t last
I’m still moving fast
And the future won’t wait for me
I’m going faster than your eye can see
No red light’s gonna stop me running
It’s all there and I am coming
I Do – 15th February 1993
I don’t need your anger
Your futile two-faced hostility
I don’t need your cold cynicism
Your stupid emotional blackmail
I don’t need your problems
Pushed back onto me
I don’t need you as a friend
If a friend you claim to be
I do, however, need to get this off my chest
Cast Off, Disperse – 9th February 1993
Forget about the past
I don’t wish to repeat it
Some things don’t last
No need to try and beat it
Living up to expectations
Impossible to perform
Start again, new relations
Positive action, reborn
Learn – 8th February 1993
Together we separately practice
Things we wish to learn
You learn to juggle with one hand
I learn to express my feelings
But I still need to learn to express them to you
House Tidy – 5th February 1993
You make a mess then you leave
I got home and can’t believe
That everything has been left to me
You’re so lazy but can’t afford a maid
You just leave everything for me instead
Some kinda friend you turned out to be
Look After Yourself – 29th January 1993
Carefully watch each step you take
This could be the last mistake you make
Look after yourself as you walk away
You may not be welcome back someday
Grass Greener – 23rd January 1993
It’s clear this town isn’t mine
I’ve been feeling it for a while
Every corner holds an angry face
Every friend, a sarcastic smile
So, I’m leaving this black hole town
That’s no good for my soul to play in
And I’ll find grass greener yonder
That’s where I’m intending laying
15th Sep 2024 – It seems in my mind that I already knew I needed to move on.
