Belgarion smother my painted dreams Open door into the patient’s screams Smoke rising from the chimney of your destruction Running riot through the holocaust of corruption Belgarion haunts the putrid air Quietly creaking on the hollow stair Singing sweetly of the life he gives No questions asked, Belgarion lives
18th Sept 2023 – My mum must have had copies of the David Eddings books from the Belgariad series around, though I don’t recall ever reading them. I did read her Thomas Covenant books though. I was quite proud of myself to have read through those as there were six super thick books.
You’ve been one year living your beliefs But now you think that you didn’t achieve So now you are back to eating meat You know that’s easy, what a relief …..for you
So you stuff your face with broken flesh Now you’re a good boy, do as mummy says Ghosts of victims screaming, watching you eat “What about the starving? Don’t they eat meat?”
“Well, it’s a boring diet, just potato and pizza” While a grain of rice is all some get to eat “Bollocks to belief, that won’t help me live I can’t help that much, I’ve got nothing to give”
One by one, the pressure can increase If we stick together and live our beliefs “Well, of course, it’s horrible but I really need meat” But how can you forget those unable to eat
Why should I care? Why should I cry? I don’t want to see a starving child die …..for you
Another born as another dies Another laughs as another cries Another sees as another’s blind Another forward as another behind

Your son is born and your mother dies Which way to turn as tears fill your eyes? Your daughter laughs as the baby boy cries Which way to turn as tears fill your eyes?
Generate
Your children see but your husband is blind Which way to turn, what will you find? Will you step forward with your children behind? Which way to turn, what will you find?
Back from work, through the door Wife and kids are there for sure Dinners wafting thru’ the hall Turning off……forget it all
Kiss from kids, ‘hi’ from wife Dinner’s ready, this is the life All is eaten, everything gone Sit down, plug in……..telly’s on
Tea in hand, refreshing drink Eyes on the box can’t afford to blink Sit back and relax, without a care Turning off……let down your hair
Nodding off to the background blur Resistance weakened, you won’t stir But a monster jumps right out of the screen Waking up, fuck……it was only a dream
Telly’s still on, watch if for a bit Someone dead, couldn’t give a shit It’s more than you deserve you fucking creep Keep up the payments….. and go back to sleep
Walking down the street Freak everyone you meet They all turn and stare As you pull out your hair Never admit defeat You’re such a freak Kissing every stranger Pretend you’re Lone Ranger People pass you by You tear out your eye You always creak You’re such a freak You’ll be there at the end Freak – you are my friend
Yesterday my friend hung herself She wanted the life of someone else Lost in a world without any hope She saw the future and couldn’t cope That was yesterday
She left a note by her bed Describing the thoughts in her head ‘Mother, everything’s falling apart Please look on this as a new start” That was yesterday
Yesterday I thought she was fine I understood that she wanted time But today is there any more? What does the future hold in store?
Is she dead? Peter shook his head Just as she wakes Peter’s head shakes Millions of miles Peter’s face smiles She started to shake and cough Cos Peter shook his head off
18th Sept 2023 – inspired by The Shock-Headed Peters, though just their name, not their words in particular.
