Faces – 3rd August 1984

That face says so much
That face says so little
That face so tough
That face so brittle
That face so circular
That face so square
That face so bald
That face with hair

The magazine says ‘There’s as many different cunts as faces’
Now we have to work out whether we’ve got them in the right places
I’m not a cunt, no one is
A word that you take so plain
Relates you to an object name

If a female is a cunt then I’m a fuckin’ prick
Looking for a place where I can make it stick

19th June 2023 – The magazine article was real but I doubt they used the word cunts.

Tragic – 2nd August 1984

Run down, gunned down, run down, gunned down
It’s on the news, page three girl dead
See all the photos on the centrespread
‘It’s a tragedy’, the headline reads
As the wonderful reader bleeds
It’s very tragic says the man on the news
But I don’t want his views
It was a waste of effort I think
You’ll miss everything if you blink
Run down, gunned down, run down, gunned down

19th June 2023 – Already calling out opinion as news.

The Eyeball In The Ashtray – 31st July 1984

Wise to decline an invitation from a madman
Such an inviting call may make happy a sad man
Because tonight they may take you astray
As become the eyeball in the ashtray
Peering and fearing and hearing and leering
I see you quietly watching, but I, in a flash
Think for you too quickly and I flick my ash
Rabbits don’t cry the scientist moans
Scientists don’t cry the rabbit moans
‘Excuse me, I think I’ve got something in my eye’
I hope it’s shampoo and I hope you die
