Hate is fun and truth is boring
The double-think tanks are rolling
The winners are always scoring
to maintain social controlling
To hear is not as to listen
Words twist being misunderstood
Making a new world to christen
that denigrates the greater good
Hate now truth so fun is boring
The doublespeak presses rolling
Spread the fires that have been storing
the hatred of past extolling
Let’s start to listen more than hear
All problems are found with answers
Let’s not make this hate a career
and so become the last chancers
Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

Last chancers indeed, well told Shaun

Great poem, Shaun! “Let’s start to listen more than hear” really resonated with me today. I’m currently trying to practice some of that daily Stoicism while waiting for these loud carpet cleaners to finally finish up my house. Thanks for the thoughtful read!

Thanks Jeanie 🙏 Sometimes I try to find the music in loud consistent noises such as vacuum cleaners and if something like that annoys or distracts me I like to dive deeper into that feeling, knowing that when it stops the relief will be so much more enjoyable. I do enjoy suffering more than most though!
Writing these Daily Stoic poems has been a reminder to me to keep practising my own self-improvement.
