this well is so deep
light enters where it opens
dug down underneath
strike a match in the darkness
you are found in there somewhere

Great metaphor – our truth is buried deep, and we have to go into the darkness to find it ♥️

So true Shaun, raises the question does anyone integrally ask? Is there any wisdom out there 🙂

It’s out there, but not here!

If just striking that match could help locate some of those bits we have chosen to bury as deep as they’ll go…
And I agree with your second verses title… No “You don’t have to stay on top of everything.” I think learning to say no works well with your verse too.

Sometimes depression feels like your crawling out of a deep hole. This is a profound poem, Shaun.

Just this last few days I’ve had one student try to kill herself and also heard about a musician I like who successfully managed to kill himself. He was only 26.
Luckily for me I found my way out the hole.
