An erasure poem using Maya Stein’s Bless The Stars, shared with What’s Going On – Blessings
crossword cream coffee
sun slips by breezes
on the drive
cheer the age
just before the run
days difficult mixed ache
the night watches
minus time
marks rest
if the stars feel still
stars left blue
over light
music fills this entry
poetry might shape fog
as the stars remember home
Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

A very interesting poem Shaun

This poem does seem to shape the music of stars, night, and morning, too, with coffee, cheer, rest, and shape. Finding home in such a wide universe is a blessing.

Wonderful poem, Shaun! I had forgotten about erasure poetry. You produced something breautiful from the words you did NOT erase! Impressive.

Thanks Mary 🙏 This one worked well I think. Sometimes, starting with a nice poetic text helps to make connections.

I am back home and hope this comment will go through. On my tablet, I tried a few times, but couldnt get it to post. What a cool idea to do a blackout poem, and what a clever one it is. I especially relate to “days difficult mixed ache” – my state of being, lol. And I love your closing stanza.

and sometimes stars make me feel blue in their stillness…..over light of the moon…
