12th Aug 2024 – Guessing the date around this time because I’m also guessing this is connected with my then-girlfriend Cherry whose mother was the worst worrier I ever met and perhaps she passed some of this onto her daughter. Perhaps she was right to worry in the end, as this early-twenties romantic spew exposes and I did not, indeed, want to be with her always.
Cherry’s mum worried so much that she got pulled over by police and cautioned for driving too slow. Twice!

Hate That Smile – Demos and Practice – 1st September 1989
I think this is the second and third demo recordings Hate That Smile made plus some practice tape recordings. I was really into the new things that we hadn’t yet recorded properly and was excited about where things were going but alas, Paul Simmons went off to Manchester for university and that was that.
