A reversed and re-imagined poem based on Under The Hood.
Under The Hood
I can feel it in my bones
Unshakeable but invisible
I try to look inside it
But this time, it’s not divisible
Clouding up the thoughts
Stumbling around my guesses
Impossible to clarify
Mixed within my messes
Can’t be touched upon
Or identified in the grey
It’s on the tip of my tongue
But what it is, I cannot say

I like how the original Under The Hood expresses that niggling sense there is something more but unreachable, though we try and try.

Thankfully, I have no experience of this!

You’ve built up a fair bit of tension in this piece, beginning and ending with questions that have no answers. It’s a relatable tension–I think we all ask questions knowing full well there will be no answer.

Thank you 🙏
“beginning and ending with questions that have no answers” – much like a life. Why am I born? Why must I die?

My goodness! This is impossibly clever [a compliment] … love the way you managed the twists and turns, bones still intact I trust.

The bones are getting a little arthritic but still intact!

I love this! I wouldn’t even dare imagine creating a poem by reversing another. You have worked such wonders with this one.
