Nothing is ever as good as it seems; float on a sigh,
all my imaginings and their themes float on a sigh;
Alone amongst friends and too busy to wait,
running nowhere and watching my schemes float on a sigh;
With a prod and a push, a light shone on me
where the angelic rainbow streams float on a sigh;
Splitting the prism, wandering in the wavelengths,
watching as your white-winged sunbeams float on a sigh;
So realise it forever, Shaun, you are now one lucky guy,
together we’ll build a world where our dreams float on a sigh.

Shaun, this feels like drifting through a dream—”your white-winged sunbeams float on a sigh” really carries a gentle ache. There’s a quiet shimmer to the whole piece.

Shaun, this feels like a delicate meditation on beauty, inner struggle, and the tension between imagination and reality. The refrain “float on a sigh” becomes increasingly poignant as the poem progresses – it’s very romantic ❤️

Thanks so much. I’m glad that the ideas are clear in this one.

Great poem, Shaun! I love that you used a phrase instead of one word as your refrain.

Sighs can mean many things, disappointment or satisfaction, but when you Split the prism and wander in the wavelengths, white light and realization, that’s a triumphant poem!
