Very true. But common man remembers what happened. When our country gained independence from Britain, there was a lot of bloodshed, not by British but Hindus and Sikhs and Muslims killed each other for daring to go towards the other side. So even if they whitewash the history, our older generations remember this gory history
I don’t pretend to understand all the intricacies of British colonialism in India but it seems to me that almost everywhere the Brits went they left a mess, whilst claiming a victory for humanity. Sounds familiar to the USA this last 80 years too!
You are very right. At this moment most of the mess created in the world is by British. They should be penalized. The also stole from all the countries they ruled. The Kohi-noor diamond belongs to us not them.
I was deeply saddened when visiting the Old Summer Palace in Beijing and seeing what little was left after it had been sacked by the British and many others. If I had my way I’d have everything returned that was stolen.
So good Shaun. History may reveal what was done was wrong- but history is written by the victors, not the victims.
