Above the roaring chaos of the rooms
The petty squabbles of emotional fools
Moulding little munchkins while running on fumes
Stuck in a system broken; made to be rules
Making peace amongst the many positions
Knowing little more than the best use of tools
Embracing the insistent inquisitions
Every teacher’s a student that schools
I found a job that I truly love, where I can put my whole self into it.
Shared with dVerse OLN #396 and this didn’t get many eyes and also conveniently meets the What’s Going On prompt this week too.

Peace without a resolution is not really peace… that may be a necessity but it is not peace.

Their positions are often forgotten by the next day.

Thanks 🙏
I have to remind my students that I know little more than them. In fact most of the time I only learn about what I’m teaching them during the preparation for the lesson (hence line 6).

I love this, especially the “little munchkins.” It makes me happy when a teacher loves their job and recognizes that he is learning, too.

Thanks Dwight. 🙏
I hated school as a student so I take that thought with me into the classroom and try to get my kids to enjoy it as much as they can.

Good for you! I also had a difficult time in my early school years! And, I too ended up being a teacher for 29 years. I loved doing hands on learning for students like me who were visual learners! I am sure you are a great teacher!

Thanks Dwight. I try, which is more than can be said for some, who are actually real qualified teachers!

I love how you run throughout the Rabbit Hole. But more than that – you keep going and teach well. Also love the Wizard of Oz references. Stories and words really are delightful! Jae

“roaring chaos”. Ha, I would call that a cute chaos. 😀 I also love, “running on fumes” and “Embracing the insistent inquisitions”. So very true-teacher like. My respects. Thanks for participating at What’s Going On.

Thanks Sumana. 🙏 The chaos is cute once I’m outside of the class. During class though…..not so much!

Thanks to all teachers, who give their hearts, minds and time to ensure our future. Here’s hoping you can rise above the struggles and ridiculousness to make a difference in young lives. I think you can.
