Shared with dVerse Poetics – what does art say?
Piling up all the ideas,
they amounted to waste;
(shards of dreams)
chaotic,
overwhelming.
Sharp,
j-a-g-g-e-d thoughts,
piled in spires,
leaving only a little sliver of sky
– an unfocused sea of debris.
An ANXIOUS entropy,
SUFFOCATING senses
–
When the records are reviewed
these monuments refuse art.
All the good things erased,
all the bad things entombed –
given to the archive of Anthropocene obsolescence.
Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

Well done Shaun!!! As a society and people I wish we would learn that seperation is a lie, that we and the environment are the same. And that what we do and treat ourselves is no different than how we treat others and the planet. This is a classic poem and loved the different fonts u=you used to craft your themes ; )

I like the way you widened the thoughts on waste.

It’s a provocation I am a part of.

An unexpected and effective ekphrastic poem. I can feel the anxiety and overwhelm of the piled up refuse of jagged, rejected thought. Which means you have successfully recycled them!

We don’t even realise how we let our mind become a land fill. Such a creative write, Shaun, your closing lones are brilliant.

Shaun, I liked how you compared (chaotic, jagged, sharp) thoughts to the trash heap in the painting. What a great analogy for the parts of our mind that hold all those bits of resentment, chaos, love, hate, etc. Your presentation with the different fonts really brought your words to heart. What an excellent write.

Thank you Colleen 🙏
In some ways I was quite happy with the words just as they were but they lent themselves to the chaos of the picture and so formatting became the next thought process to enhance it overall.

I love the idea of piling up thoughts! All that scrolling creates a whole landfill in our brains! Well done, Shaun.
