Blockade on blockade-
time to sell those stocks.
Unplug the power grid,
set for financial shocks.
Peace is a boondoggle
for the dogs of war.
The circle always completes
from ship to shore.
Business means bucks,
made at any cost
until...
all ledgered lost.

Today’s Daily Stoic poem:

A boondoggle that’s for sure. How those imbeciles are still allowed to be in power is beyond me.

A sharp punchy piece Shaun – your phrase ‘all ledgered lost’ is a beautiful, devastating bit of wordplay🙌

Cheers Ange. 🙏 It seemed to work out, as I originally had ‘all that’s ledgered lost’ and had to cut a word to make it 44.

this is infuriating! and our leaders sit on their hands and watch it happen- or- most of them are probably doing the same thing!

If they are not doing anything about it then they are definitely part of the problem.

Your poem is sad but true, Rockefeller’s started the mess with refining oil in 1870. (Ford started mass producing cars in 1903) Then once plastics and petro based products became popular (in pharmaceutical industry) they were found to cause cancer so he funded the American Cancer Society. Create the problem, cure the disease…no different than what you decribe Provocative and challenging poem, I love it! 🩵

I read recently about a new strong and biodegradeable plastic that has just been made. It breaks down properly with 20 days or so (I’m guessing under the right conditions). Hopefully it is not carcinogenic! Standing next to petrol pumps I feel like I’m inhaling cancer….

That’s good to hear, hopefully the powers-that-be will adopt it into everyday use. Its good to have hope….👌
