In black night, darker than dark
Without white, without sight
None so blind, with eyes shut tight
Cannot find, front or behind
A simple spark brings forth light
Until this dark has been put right
Shared with W3 #185 – internal rhyme and What’s Going On – black/white

I am glad there is always a trickle of light to give us hope in dark times – and thank you for your kinds comments – Jae

Shaun you brevity is a refreshing touch! I think I recognized several types of internal rhyme – only fitting for the PoW!

You have said a lot very effectively in a very few words! Just one little spark changes everything.

I was pleased with the title which was added after writing the poem.

We need those bright sparks. You conveyed darkness so well in this poem. I hope the dark is put right soon.

Shaun, you are a master of the internal rhyme, this alongside the strong metaphor evokes a transition from deep darkness into light so well (just a little complaint – you could have said in your prompt guidelines between 6 – 16lines!!😅)

Ah! You’re right! You got me. Haha! It seemed that this poem was all written out within the six! Ah well, rules are made to be broken 👍

Yes, often we don’t realise the full depth of the darkness that surrounds us, until a tiny spark briefly illuminates our surroundings. It is then that we desire the most full light!

Great internal rhyme and alliteration, which I hardly noticed as my attention was held by the metaphor 💞 Suzanne
