Tried dictating to the computer to record these but it’s difficult to talk and think sometimes – tells you something!

Nice dreams, didn’t want them to stop – Amy and I were at a public bath with Chris and Hillary – I don’t remember why or how.

I wasn’t tired last night – slept late. Feel okay now after exercise.

First Thai lesson today. Nervous but know it will be okay.

Look forward to coffee as always. Thoughts flip down the river but don’t come now as I’m writing. My stuck mind.

One-Oh-One
Sabot / The Thaw / Wog / The Warm Feelings

One-Oh-One is a new independent space in Hibernian House ( room 101 in the stained glass building, 342 Elizabeth St, sizzle hizzayz). Come check it out!

23rd Oct 2021 – One Oh One was a relatively new space in Hibernian House run by Damien and Mert from the Warm Feelings. Unfortunately, its location within the building and the volume the Warm Feelings used the space to practice at caused problems with other spaces around and above. I think perhaps all bands got to play except Sabot before there were threats of physical violence and calls to the police. Ray from Wog was due to play with the Hard-Ons just around the corner at the Excelsior and was open to the idea of Sabot being able to play at the end of their set. Blackie wasn’t so keen and by the time it may have been a possibility Chris from Sabot had already had a couple of beers, which was a no-no for Team Sabot shows and the night ended up somewhat disappointingly all round.

ok – anyone on list who paid to come along to the sabot show with wog,the thaw and the warm feelings last night obviously didn’t get to see a full show for their money so i’d like to invite you to the following couple of shows for free entry:

Akemi
Sabot / The Thaw / Sun of the Seventh Sister
8pm, $5

40 Great Western Highway, Medlow Bath, Blue Mountains. Akemi is a great little space and we can have trampoline comps in the backyard between bands. Bring that shit on – you know you love it.

Sabot are an amazing bass & drums duo from the Czech Republic.

Sabot are coming back to Sydney as part of their ‘around the world in 81 days’ tour.

23rd Oct 2021 – Akemi was a new space in the Blue Mountains, born out of the DIY improv scene and open to any kind of outsider music and art. Steph Thaw and I had taken a drive up to check out the space and this was the first (and only?) show I put on at Akemi though they had a reasonable run before various noise complaints stopped them, exacerbated somewhat by the Suns of the Seventh Sister practicing at max volume through the early mornings.

It was nice to get here before dark and just hang out a bit with the folks living here but I didn’t try out the trampoline.

On a hot crazy night, tenzenmen brought together Baseball (Melbourne), ni‐hao! (Japan), Sabot (Czech Republic) and The Thaw (Sydney) and crammed them into the confines of Bar Open in Melbourne. Here’s what happened! 112 minutes of some of the most exciting music from around the world.

14th May 2021 – I have no idea how I managed to organise all this! There’s also radio appearances and photoshoots in that time too. It seems crazy now, I guess I knew quite a few people and they must’ve helped me a lot. I think I must’ve enjoyed doing it so much that I didn’t realise how much work it was – I certainly don’t have any memory of it being difficult.

we made it back from melb in one piece (barely!).

the whole week was a blast – ni hao are aweome, fun, exciting and amazing musicians. we played with loads of rad bands and managed to avoid the killer trams on the streets of melb town. 

anyone at the bar open show will be pleased to know that it was recorded and the entire thing will be put on dvd for sale sometime in the near future. it was a great night of diverse music; us, baseball, sabot and nihao!

also, for those down in melb who missed out at the show (damn lazy fuckers!) we’ve got some cds in missing link for purchase at a measly $6. almost as cheap as those ‘potato cakes’ you have down there. [or u can send us an email and we’ll send one out to ya, s.w.a.k!]

so big ups to twitch of the death nerve, dad they broke me, grey daturas, bad cop bad cop, witch hats and everyone else we played with. hope to see a few of you up north sometime soon. we luv u melbourne!!!!!!!!!! we miss all the awesome people we met down there and hopefully we can come back soooooooon!!!!!!!!
