The Thirteenth Card – 14th July 1984

The dealer turns the first
His face remains still
He turns the second
The card predicts a kill
The third is turned
He smiles with no concern
Slowly turning the fourth
There’s a lesson to learn
The fifth is observed
The learner shows no alarm
The dealer turns the sixth
Which brings him no harm
He turns the seventh
The patient learner waits
The eighth is observed
Depicting heaven’s gates
The ninth is turned
And the tension begins to rise
Because the tenth
Brings on his demise
The eleventh is turned
And shows a picture of pain
The twelfth is seen
And they take a look again
Then the thirteenth card….
