Post Epilogue – 21st September 2025

I’m sending you all a letter
You’ll receive it when I have gone
It may not be anything much
But may mean something to someone

But the meaning it will contain
Multiplied by my own demise
Even if only for a time
There’s not much left to give surprise

This is a reference to scheduling posts far in the future that will be delivered after I die. This could be one. Who knows?

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting Lincol. 🙏

You might be interested in the website FutureMe where you can schedule messages via email far into the future. Which reminds me, I need to do another one to myself.

      1. That sounds fascinating! So, do you schedule them for yourself as a sort of motivational thing, Shaun? Or to see how well you’ve predicted future outcomes for yourself?

I imagine such letters will always mean something to someone and that’s enough.

        1. I send them to my future self as a reminder of where I am and what is happening, perhaps with some predictions or ideas.

I also send one to my son to remind him of where here is at the time.

It’s really a more personalised blog entry that has a better chance of being seen by the intended recipient.

  1. I pre-schedule posts for a blogging challenge I do in April and your idea that they might arrive after my always possible untimely demise is an interesting one Shaun, just as the way that some people leave loved one’s Facebook pages open in perpetuity…

  2. The A to Z Challenge – you can see previous years along the top of my website. 2024 Was about commodities but included a poem for each – an Acrostic on Aluminium etc. Next year my theme is the many types of fabric…
