It was beauty that killed the beast but the words live on between the lines We all go a little mad sometimes, inspired to try again sometimes You’re going to need a bigger boat to hold all the babbled speaking Trust is a tough thing to come by these days and now we’re slowly leaking
I know what you did last summer, I know what you’ll be doing the next You know, there are two kinds of evil, writer’s block, the page without text We are the ones who dwell within waiting for the written to be read Where we’re going, we don’t need eyes to see but ears to hear what is said
It is truth, but truth is not always appearance, often it is lies Fiddlesticks, I don’t know what possessed me to offer you this surprise

Thank you so much for the mention and sharing my poem, Shaun. I love the way you included so many of the given lines from horror films and wove them neatly into your poem. I love these lines:
‘You’re going to need a bigger boat to hold all the babbled speaking’
and
‘You know, there are two kinds of evil, writer’s block, the page without text’.
Thanks Kim. When I read the first line of your poem, I thought to myself, ‘oh, I wondered if they’ve used multiple quotes, that would be fun’, but you took your write in a different direction. And then I thought that I should run with the idea, using the American sentence form and the idea about writing/poetry. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙏
Fantastic! You worked the lines in seamlessly and I love that you were inspired by another dear poet. Thanks for rising to the challenge….and beyond. 🙂

Thanks Mish. 🙏 I was on a tight schedule to get this second write submitted but the pressure seemed to pay off.

I love how you managed to weave in all those other lines from the movies into something so coherent.
