Well, it was bound to happen – I’d been sweating and waiting for a storm to come and it did. But at the wrong time! Just as I was walking from Wynyard to Pier 4. I got drenched! And I only got a couple of blocks. Pissed off and dejected I decided it would be a better idea to go home or back to work rather than turn up to this function completely soaked. However, due to the storm the trains stopped running for 45 minutes! So I was really shitty by now. I came back to work got my stuff and went to my car and drove home – only to be stuck in traffic cos the lights were out on Epping Road. By the time I got home at 6 the sun was out again! I wonder if this is indicative of how my Christmas will be!

I was thinking last night when I might get a card or mail or email from you. I really wish I knew what you were doing and we could chat everyday as usual and keep each other updated on all our news – I’m sure you’ll forget a lot of exciting things by the time you get back.

I hate Christmas shopping. I’ve been looking for something for Bronwyn and I just don’t know what to get her. The other thing that’s getting me shitty is I don’t have any cash til Thursday – so I’ll have to shop on Thursday, wrap on Friday and deliver on Saturday! Saturday pm we are having our Christmas with HJ. I hope I have enough money to get HJ some more bits and pieces too.

All right baby angel cakes. Hope you’re not missing me too much and are having a great time. See you in three weeks or so!

Babes

Well, today is the first day for a long time that I haven’t spoken to you – feels strange. the joy on your face on Wednesday is keeping me happy though. You know I love to do anything I can for you (enjoy it while it lasts!!!). Did you go back and see Varny in Hyde Park? I’m broke again – just enough $$ to get my next prescription luckily! And I’ve got plenty of food so that’s OK. Was thinking of going to the beach tonight as it is so hot at the moment – but I’m a bit tired – may go to the pool instead – have enough $$ for that.

This’ll be the first of many short emails – so expect a huge Inbox when you get back and a huge kiss too (and more!)

15th Sep 2024 – TLJ went off to Taiwan for a few weeks. Her family had roots back there though I’m not sure exactly what her purpose was for this visit as I don’t think that it was with her family.

Missing you like crazy sweety. Wish you were here. I’m off now to a Christmas dinner at Pier 4. What are you having for dinner tonight?

Thought you might like to know what good taste all us people on the Vertigo mail list have. Recently people have been posting their top five fave movies, books etc. There were also top 5 desert island disks.
I would say about 85% of people on the list put a Tori Amos recording in their top fives! Just wanted you to know what wonderful people us comic book readers are.
Hope yr exam went well.

T: everyone is doing so well….jeff got this kickass job at banker’s trust. tell you about it later. only that everybody does so well – and some people don’t do all the work. like jeff in marketing.

S: that’s the way of the world – but your turn will come for sure. at least you can be happy knowing you’ve got a great friend who will look after you and support you and even feed you and ply you with money (yeah…ok). Just work hard sweety – your reward is personal achievement – be satisfied with that and everything else will come.

8th Sep 2024 – I believe this is a reference to what one might call a driving lesson. In the dark suburban streets next to TLJ’s house, I would park around the corner, call her and tell her to sneak out. I was always so thrilled when she showed up and predictably couldn’t keep my hands off her (and she felt the same).

As we were in my little Hyundai there wasn’t much space but thankfully she was a small girl. We were sat in the driver’s seat, her on my lap facing forward, when I started the car and took off the handbrake. I told her to steer whilst I operated the pedals and we slowly buzzed around the crescent excited at the thrilling possibility of being caught in a compromising position.

Ni shi wo de pengyou.

Just practising. I’m bored bored bored. Oh, and tired. I’m looking after HJ on Saturday night so won’t be out with Craig (did I tell you about that – he invited me out for dinner and a gig at the Globe on Saturday night – will have to catch up with him some other time). I’m thinking of driving to Melbourne around Christmas time. Brad, the dude from Adelaide moves there next week and we agreed I should go down there sometime and Christmas would be the perfect time. I’d rather be in Taiwan though, with you, of course! Look forward to seeing you later babes.

About this glenn guy who’s getting married – people keep writing to congratulate him – but hardly any of us know him. his fiance’s called maggie i think. Another girl wrote congrats – she’s engaged to a guy called chris who’s also in my year doing com sci! her name’s deanna/e and i heard she’s really beautiful. apparently, this gives chris a big head – he’s a pretty hefty bloke.
i’m so glad we got each other baby, love tlj.

T: anyway, i was falling asleep on the lounge at level four i was so tired this morning and felt really clogged up. am sick of work. josh says hey again.

T: anyway, meeting starts soon, and i don’t have to take minutes anymore – yeah!!!!!!! i’ve got to send my timesheet to arjun – i’m getting slack now i’m not in admin, and god damn you guys and timesheets – you guys were absolutely hopeless when i was at CSC – but then i suppose you had other distractions – hah!

S: Yeah, but nothing memorable!

i’ll be pretty tired after white-water rafting.

T: pps – this guy at uni is getting married!!!!! i don’t really know who he is – although i think i know who he is – and he wrote and told us, although i think he’s mentioned he was already engaged. i think it’s really cool – he sounds like he’s really in love and happy! i wrote him congrats. i love weddings!
