Entry fee: We’ll be asking for a reasonable amount for the shows. It is a fundraiser so we’d appreciate generosity but also understand how important that goon bag is to you.

Creeks is a trio of former UWS students formed in 2008.
When not getting drunk and eating cheese we make some music together which involves Monika Brooks playing Piano (when one is available), Jon Hunter on Guitar and Kusum Normoyle singing in and around her computer. We also made some recordings into Jons New Laptop, but then Kusum spilt wine on it, but it was ok (One of the shift keys does not work but luckily it has two). The Jackson / Leipnitz Duo is an intercontinental collaboration of alto saxophonist Dave Jackson (Syd) and drummer Jan Leipnitz (Berlin). The duo improvises freely with an emphasis on melody and groove. Fans of the famous Charles Lloyd/Billy Higgins duo recordings will love these guys.

TIM OLIVE (USA/jap)- Osaka resident, born and raised on the Canadian prairies, began playing electric bass at age 12, fueled by 70’s hard rock. A move to “the city” brought exposure to free jazz, early electronic music and the music(s) of Asia. Efforts were made to accomodate these sounds within the range of rock instrumentation in the bands Nimrod and Soap-Jo Henshi, but eventually periodic rhythms and tempered pitches were jettisoned in favour of open forms, improvisation and exploration of the full sonic possibilities of steel strings and magnetic pickups, the number and diameter of strings varying periodically.
